Charlotte Laws say she was introduced to Bill Cosby in 1979 or 1980 by a friend who was in a consensual, intimate relationship with the comedian. In an article for " Salon," Laws alleges that friend later told her that Cosby drugged her and then had sex with her. "Bill drugged me last night, and then had sex with me," Law's friend confided. "I just don't understand it. It's not like I would have said no to anything."
In 2005, when allegations of sexual assault surrounded Cosby, Laws realized her friend's experience "had not been a one-off." She considered coming forward, but felt she should leave it to law enforcement because she was not actually the victim. Now, she has decided to tell her story. "I realize I am late. I realize I am not a victim myself. And I realize I did not help my sisters in 2005 when they needed me most. But I also realize that it is better to be late than silent," says Laws.
