Grand jury meets: Will cop be indicted?

  • Grand jury to hear testimony in Michael Brown shooting death
  • Prosecutor says it could take until mid-October for grand jury to hear all evidence
  • Officer Wilson could be called to testify before the grand jury

A St. Louis County grand jury began to hear evidence in the Michael Brown shooting death Wednesday.

County prosecutor Bob McCulloch says his assistant prosecutors will present all the evidence in the case to the grand jury over the next several months, hoping to determine if Officer Wilson should face criminal charges.

The jury of 12 does not need to reach a unanimous decision, only 9 of the 12 need to agree on whether or not to indict the officer.

As a witness to the shooting, Officer Wilson could testify before the grand jury to describe his account of how the shooting transpired.
