Jodi Arias' lawyer begs judge to let him off the case

  • Arias was granted a request to act as her own attorney during sentencing retrial
  • Kirk Nurmi, who is now counseling Arias, wants to withdraw from the case

Jodi Arias’ longtime attorney Kirk Nurmi has asked the judge to let him off the case for good after the judge authorized Arias to act as her own attorney in her sentencing retrial.

Nurmi says since he's only acting as an advisor, his role is not as crucial as it was before. The judge has yet to rule on Nurmi's request as Arias’ sentencing retrial is set to begin next month.
