McBride Trial: Jury hears 911 call from shooter

  • Theodore Wafer, 55, is charged with 2nd degree murder, manslaughter, and felony use of a firearm
  • Victim, 19-year-old Renisha McBride, was found dead on the shooter’s porch
  • Police officers, witnesses to car crash, and 911 call all take center stage Thursday in court

The trial in the shooting death of Renisha McBride continued Thursday with the jury hearing the 911 call from the shooter, Theodore Wafer.

On the 911 call Wafer says “I just shot somebody on my front porch with a shotgun banging on my door.”

Prosecutors also called witnesses who were at the scene when McBride crashed her car just hours before the shooting. Those witnesses told the jury that McBride appeared disoriented, scared, and wanted to go home, but did not appear to be aggressive or belligerent as the defense is trying to show.
