NEED TO KNOW
  • Mark Giannini is accused of aggravated rape, selling controlled substances
  • Giannini's attorney says his client is innocent

Former Tennessee tech CEO Mark Giannini is accused of raping a woman who thought she was meeting the businessman for a job interview.

The victim apparently told police Giannini drugged and raped her and that one of his employees then drove her back to a motel where her family was staying.

Giannini is accused of aggravated rape and selling controlled substances.

In a statement to HLN, Giannini's attorney said, "Mr. Giannini professes his innocence and we will handle this matter if it comes to trial."

During their investigation, detectives said they found a massive stash of sex toys, prescription narcotics, guns and multiple drawers full of ladies lingerie as well as clothes and shoes in multiple sizes.
