Some cities duke it out for weird honors like the home of the biggest brownie or sub sandwich. However, people in Knoxville, Tennessee, recently broke the Guinness World Record for most people in one building wearing duct tape. Yes, duct tape.
Hundreds of people jammed the University of Tennessee's Thompson Boling Arena on Thursday wearing outfits made entirely of the industrial-strength tape.
The event was put on by a nonprofit organization Destination Imagination, a group that urges creativity through science and math. The rules stated each person had to wear at least two pieces of clothing made from duct tape in addition to sporting an accessory of duct tape.
CNN affiliate WVLT said at the time of the "official counting," the number of attendees reached 752. According to the affiliate, a judge from Guinness World Records had to count -- by hand -- each accessory.
