So, there's an elephant on the beach in Florida

  • An elephant was spotted on the beach in Pinellas County, Florida
  • The animal appeared to be on the beach as part of a private party

You expect to see pelicans or sea gulls on the beach in Florida. But, an elephant?!

Todd Unbehagen was walking on the beach with his family in Pinellas County, Florida, when they spotted an elephant walking around in the water.

"We could not believe our eyes," Unbehagen said.

Unbehagen said he believes the elephant was there for a party. "There was a professional elephant trainer there and a couple police officers for the event.  It looked like somebody was having a party (private) at the beach house, and the elephant was giving rides as well to the guests," he said.

Unbehagen's family stopped to take video and even got a selfie with the elephant in background.

There is just one thing left to say: Only in Florida.
