Idaho becomes 6th state to pass Ag-Gag law

NEED TO KNOW
  • Law criminalizes hidden camera recording on farms
  • Ag-Gag bills were introduced & defeated in 17 other states

Idaho is now the sixth state to pass an Ag-Gag law that criminalizes the filming of undercover video exposing cruelty on factory farms.   Two years ago, Mercy for Animals went undercover to Bettencourt Dairies, the largest dairy operation in Idaho, and found horrific abuse.

The farm’s owner told CNN “We are all devastated by it. We are family owned and we love our cattle. It’s something we don’t allow.”  As a result of that undercover investigation, five workers were fired and three of them were charged with cruelty to animals.

But with these Ag-Gag laws, abuse like that may never come to light.  Go to Mercy for Animals to find out how you can help fight against Ag-Gag laws.
