Deion Sanders: Reality TV is harder than football!

  • Deion Sanders is starring on a new reality show on OWN called 'Deion's Family Playbook'
  • Sanders tells A.J. Hammer that reality television is much harder than playing football!

The only athlete to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series is now discovering a whole new playing field - reality television! Deion Sanders is starring in his own new reality show on the OWN network called "Deion's Family Playbook," which follows him and his children's lives in Dallas, Texas.

Last month at the DirecTV Beach Bowl event before the Super Bowl, HLN's A.J. Hammer caught up with Sanders to ask him how he was adjusting to the cameras following him around.

"Doing television, especially reality television when you have 8 kids involved in the home, it's not natural!" Sanders said. "Something always goes wrong."

The show features Sanders raising his five children as well helping to raise four other children who live with him, including the twins whom his mother cares for, his niece and nephew and a student in need whom he recently took into his home. On the show, viewers will also get a glimpse into Sanders' private life with his girlfriend Tracey Edmonds (who was previously married to Babyface and Eddie Murphy).

Check out more of what Sanders told A.J. about his debut reality show and watch the premiere of "Deion's Family Playbook" on Saturday, March 1 on OWN.
