Police chief: ‘Horrific ending’ to Hailey Owens case

  • Craig Michael Wood, 45, is being held on suspicion of first degree murder

A 45-year-old elementary school coach is being held on suspicion of first degree murder after police in Missouri confirmed Wednesday they discovered a young female body believed to be that of missing 10-year-old Hailey Owens.

“It’s tragic and ended up with a very horrific conclusion,” Springfield Police Chief Paul Williams told Nancy Grace. “There are bad people out there who do bad things.”
