  • Pilot, Capt. 'Sully' Sullenberger became an instant hero

It's been five years since U.S. Airways Flight 1549 crashed into the Hudson River without any loss of life. The National Transportation Safety Board says the plane's engines shut down after colliding with birds less than two minutes after taking off. Capt. Chesley Sullenberger was able to land the plane on the Hudson River and passengers were seen standing on the wings as the plane floated.
