TLC's 'Sister Wives' on life, love & lawsuits

  • TLC's 'Sister Wives' win legal victory over polygamy ban
  • Brown family fled Utah in 2011 over fear of prosecution

TLC's "Sister Wives" star Kody Brown has a super-sized family. The reality show on-screen crew consists of one husband, four wives and 17 children living as one family.

In 2011, the family fled from Utah to Nevada, fearing prosecution after they say the state launched an investigation into their family.

No charges were ever brought against the Brown family, but they fought back by suing the state of Utah. Brown claims his family's privacy rights were violated by a law banning cohabitation.

In December, the family won a major legal victory when a federal judge struck down part of the state's law banning polygamy.

Kody Brown and his four wives spoke about that victory with HLN's Vinnie Politan.
