Traffic stop turns into wild chase for mom, kids

  • Dash cam video shows a New Mexico state police officer pulling over a mom of five
  • The mom and son are both facing charges
  • The two officers involved are under investigation

A routine traffic stop in New Mexico turns into a chaotic scene with shots fired at a minivan full of kids.

Dash cam video of the October 28 incident was released to HLN affiliate KRQE. According to KRQE, the officer pulled over Oriana Ferrell for going 71 in a 55 mph speed zone. As the cop walks off, Ferrell drives away.

What unfolded next is far from the average speeding ticket.
