Canine camera: Dozer's life as a service dog

NEED TO KNOW
  • Service dog Dozer helps veterans with PTSD
  • See what Dozer sees when taking a walk
Editor's note: This Veterans Day, join HLN for a special tribute to service dogs -- their courage and dedication are helping heal America's wounded heroes. Stories of Courage: K9s for Warriors premieres on November 11th at 7 p.m. EST.

Dozer is more than just a companion. Like other service dogs, he's a lifesaver for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. These service dogs can reduce their anxiety, help with depression and even wake them up if they're having a nightmare. Plus, they're really cute.

HLN wanted to see what Dozer sees when he's out and about. We strapped a camera on Dozer and set him lose with trainer Matthew Masingill, a veteran who suffers from PTSD.

Dozer is from K9s for Warriors, an organization that trains the dogs and gives them to veterans in need, free of charge.
