A 'Brave' surprise

NEED TO KNOW
  • Hospital nurses, staffers and patients make viral version of Sara Bareilles' hit song, 'Brave'
  • Showbiz Tonight surprises the viral video stars with an emotional introduction to Bareilles herself!

University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital nurses Brittany Bloemke and Natalie Snyder are the masterminds of a viral sensation. They got together dozens of hospital staffers to join current and former patients, to dance and lip sync to Sara Bareilles' hit song "Brave," which they've adopted as an anthem to inspire their young cancer patients. Their video has inspired far more than that; it's closing in on 1 million views on YouTube.

YourTango: A must-see ode to mothers

Bloemke and Snyder -- along with cancer patient Sarah Ewald, who appears in the video -- stopped by Showbiz Tonight to talk about their unlikely Internet stardom. But once their interview was underway, we had a surprise for them in the form of our fourth guest: Sara Bareilles herself!

"You guys are just so inspiring," an emotional Bareilles told her surprised Minnesota fans. She says their video tribute to her song (which Bareilles co-wrote with fun.'s Jack Antonoff) is "something I'm going keep with me near and dear to my heart forever and ever." What did the shocked Minnesota trio have to say to Bareilles (once they regained their composure)? The emotional meeting tonight on Showbiz Tonight at 11 p.m. ET/PT
