Dr. MacNeill offered ER doc $10K to save wife?

NEED TO KNOW
  • Former Utah doctor Martin MacNeill is accused of drugging and drowning his wife
  • MacNeill has pleaded not guilty to murder and could face life in prison if convicted

An emergency room doctor testified Wednesday that Dr. Martin MacNeill offered him $10,000 to continue is resuscitation efforts of Michele MacNeill when she was rushed to the hospital.

“I think as physician he [Dr. MacNeill] probably knew that his wife was already dead, knowing we didn't had any signs of life, no blood pressure, no pulse, no breathing on her own. I'm not sure why he made that comment…struck me as very odd and still remains odd when I think about it,” Dr. Leo Scott Van Wagoner said in court.
