A New Hampshire waitress just got the surprise of her life on the Ellen Degeneres Show, a $10,000 tip! Ellen invited Sarah Hoidahl onto her show after hearing the waitress picked up the $27.75 lunch tab of two furloughed National Guard soldiers during the federal government’s shutdown.
Hoidahl not only paid the bill, she left a note for the soldiers thanking them for their service to our country. That note went viral and gave Hoidahl a new claim to fame.
“I was so overwhelmed with emotion. I just started crying,” Hoidahl tells Showbiz Tonight. “When I looked at the check I was just so happy.”
Wait till you find out what she’s doing with her big money reward! Watch Showbiz Tonight at 11 pm ET/PT on HLN!
