No funny black women for SNL? Really?

  • ‘SNL’ star Kenan Thompson under fire after saying why the show has no black female comedians
  • ‘SNL’ announces ‘Scandal’ star Kerry Washington will host the show in November

This is no laughing matter! Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson just told TV Guide the reason the show doesn’t have any black female comedians is because it’s hard to find qualified ones and they “never find ones that are ready”.

"SNL" has been criticized for not having a regular black female cast member since 2007 Comedienne Sheri Shepherd, who co-hosts “The View”, says "SNL" isn’t “doing the work to find funny women”.

African-American comedic duo "Frangela" agree, telling Showbiz Tonight the reason the show isn’t finding funny black women is because they aren’t looking in the right places.

So what do they think of “SNL” just announcing “Scandal” star  Kerry Washington will host the show on November 2? You do not want to miss their hilarious take on Showbiz Tonight at 11pm ET/PT on HLN.
