A Montana teacher only spent 31 days in jail for the rape of a 14-year-old student. Stacey Rambold was a teacher at Billings Senior High School in Montana. In 2008, Rambold was charged with three counts of sexual intercourse without consent with a 14-year-old student. That student committed suicide just before her 17th birthday.
On Thursday, Rambold was released from jail after serving his 31 days. The judge who handed out this controversial sentence said the 14-year-old student seemed “older than her chronological age”. Jane Velez-Mitchell spoke to Heidi Damon a sexual assault survivor and her panel of legal experts to get their reaction to this sentence.
