Have you heard of "vaping?" How about "sizzurp?" Or "lean?" What about "purple drank?"
If you're a parent or grandparent, you probably need to add those words to your vocabulary. "Vaping" is simply inhaling alcohol. If you do a YouTube search, you'll get hundreds of results of teens and college students using all kinds of concoctions to breathe it in. So why smoke it instead of drinking it?
"Sizzurp," "lean," or "purple drank" -- whatever the kids are calling it these days -- is something completely different. It's combination of soda and prescription-strength cough syrup that's been glamorized in rap songs by Lil' Wayne, Three 6 Mafia, and Gucci Mane.
"When they drink that concoction, it's usually not the only thing they're doing. It can really put people in danger for cardiac arrest," Manning said.
