Authorities say Richard Parrinello, an animal control officer, was secretly selling snakes from his Long Island home. Officers found an astounding 850 snakes-2 of them 6 ft. long Burmese pythons-stuffed into containers in his garage. He also reportedly had three tarantulas and three boxes of small spiders.
Cops say Parrinello was illegally selling the snakes through his website. The two pythons have been sent to a sanctuary in Massachusetts. The fate of the other animals has yet to be determined. Parrinello is facing charges for owning Burmese pythons, which are illegal in the state of New York, and for running a business out of his home without a permit.
