China Arnold was convicted of murder for cooking her 28-day-old daughter in a microwave in August 2005.
The 33-year-old has already been tried three times, but her attorney contends there were multiple errors in Arnold's latest trial, which is why he is calling for a new trial without death penalty specifications.
In the above video clip, just days after the baby's death, Arnold said to reporters: "They told me it looked like somebody had cooked her. I don't know why -- I don't know why anybody would do that to her."
