Cops wound bystanders in NYC shooting

  • 2 women shot while police chased a man near Times Square
  • Suspect appeared to point a weapon at officers, but was unarmed

New cell phone video caught the moment when police accidentally shot two women near New York's Times Square over the weekend.

A 54-year-old woman was hit in her right leg and a 37-year-old woman was grazed in her backside.

The officers say they were chasing an emotionally-disturbed man who was darting into traffic trying to be hit by cars.

It turned out the man didn't have a weapon and police ended up using a stun gun to bring him down. He faces several charges including resisting arrest.

Both women who were injured are expected to be OK.
