Football isn’t just for guys! 84.3 million females identify themselves as NFL fans and 89 million females self-identify as college sports fans. You better believe, the retail industry is taking notice.
Alicia Jessop, a contributor to Forbes, joined Weekend Express to talk about the growing industry. She says NFL “consumer products” is a $3.2 billion business and within that, women’s apparel sales have seen “triple-digit-growth.” Jessop also says estimations indicate women’s apparel sales for schools and institutions it partners with will exceed $350 million during the 2012-2013 fiscal year.
