See Michelle Knight's strength in court

  • Michelle Knight, one of Ariel Castro's kidnapping victims, addressed the court today
  • Castro is being sentenced for holding three women in his home as sex slaves for about a decade

Out of tragedy can come incredible strength.

That was the message that Michelle Knight wanted to convey when she stood up in court Thursday and addressed the judge at the sentencing hearing for Ariel Castro. Castro pleaded guilty to kidnapping Knight and two other women when they were teens and detaining them in his home as sex slaves for about 10 years.

Knight, at times emotional and wiping her nose, did not look at Castro as she read her prepared statement. She was flanked by supporters.
