Aurora survivors: We're reclaiming this day

  • Kirstin Davis and Eugene Han were victims of the 2012 movie theater massacre
  • The couple says they wanted to change the significance of the day

Last July, Kirstin Davis and Eugene Han were among the 70 hurt and 12 killed in the Aurora, Colorado, theater shooting massacre. A gunman opened fire on the crowd in the auditorium during a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises." The suspect, 24-year-old James Holmes, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Although the day may be one that many victims may choose to try to forget, Davis and Han wanted to change the significance of the day. Instead of mourning the one year anniversary, the pair decided to start over with a new beginning. In front of family, friends and other Aurora survivors, the two said 'I do'.
