John Spooner, a 76-year-old white man, is accused of murdering 13-year-old Darius Simmons, a black teen. The suspect is pleading not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, after claiming the teen stole several of his guns. Lawyers in this case say the verdict in the George Zimmerman case is impacting the trial.
