O'Mara: This is the jury I wanted

  • Mark O'Mara gives exclusive interview to CNN's Martin Savidge
  • O'Mara touches on race, gender of jurors in Zimmerman trial

Monday night at 10 p.m ET on a special edition of HLN After Dark, Vinnie Politan is one-on-one with the Zimmerman prosecution team to try to find out what happened. HLN has been all over this case, and nothing is off-limits in this primetime interview.

In an exclusive interview with CNN's Martin Savidge, defense attorney Mark O'Mara shared his thoughts on the race and gender of the jurors in the Zimmerman trial -- five white women and one black/Hispanic female -- saying that he was happy with who was selected.

Coming soon to HLN: Georgia v. Andrea Sneiderman

He said in his perfect jury, he would want some men, and was surprised that the prosecution struck the first black male from the potential jury list. The State also seemed to be striking one white woman after another. "I challenged them on that ... and the judge agreed with me that they were removing white women because they were white women," he said.
