Appearing Monday on CNN’s new morning show New Day, HLN’s Nancy Grace gave some key insight into what the defense and prosecution will look to accomplish in week 2 of the George Zimmerman trial.
She said the defense can’t rest on its laurels after a strong first week. “I predict they will put up witnesses,” she said, adding that Zimmerman's defense team still doesn't have a strong enough case to send it to the jury just yet.
"I also predict we're going to hear inconsistent statements by Zimmerman," she said, alluding to what he told police the night he shot and killed Trayvon Martin.
“A lot is riding on whether this jury believes Zimmerman was in fear for his life,” Grace said. “Otherwise, you've got to explain a grown man walking around in the middle of the night with a gun loaded, live ammo, looking for some kid that was just going home to his dad.”
