It could get HOW hot this weekend???

  • HLN Meteorologist Bob Van Dillen says temps in Death Valley, Callifornia could hit 130 degrees
  • Las Vegas could break a record

Several western states are facing dangerously high temps this weekend.

Temperatures in Death Valley, California, are expected to rise to around 130 degrees. That's very close to the highest (reliable) temperature ever recorded on planet Earth: 134 degrees. That record was set right there in Death Valley almost 100 years ago.

Las Vegas could tie or break it's all-time record high of 117 degrees.

HLN Meteorologist Bob Van Dillen reports.
