More major sponsors put Paula Deen on the chopping block Thursday -- even after her Wednesday appearance on NBC’s “Today” show, in which she tried to set the record straight.

The Home Depot and Noro Nordisk, which makes the diabetes drug Deen sponsored, joined Caesars Entertainment, Smithfield Hams, Wal-Mart and The Food Network in dumping Deen.

Showbiz Tonight asks, does Deen deserve a break?

“She deserves a break! When I first heard about it I was shocked, saddened, gutted, I know what it’s like, you build a brand, you’re a family person, and you see the demise of it right before your eyes,” Chef Jason Roberts told us. “She’s in total shock right now. She’s doing these appearances. Those apologies are totally sincere.”
