Prosecutor: 911 call is "bone-chilling"

  • Prosecutor John Guy gives opening statement in Zimmerman trial
  • He describes the 911 call as crucial to the case

Presenting his opening statement Monday morning in the George Zimmerman trial, prosecutor John Guy implored jurors to pay attention to one of the trial's most "bone-chilling" pieces of evidence: The 911 call.

“You will hear screaming in the background. Listen carefully to that call,” he said.

The call has been a contentious issue in the case, as both sides have argued over who the plaintive cries on tape belong to. Judge Debra Nelson ruled Saturday that testimony from the state's audio experts will not be allowed in the trial.
