Stunt woman, pilot killed in air show crash

  • WHIO: Plane burst into flames upon impact
  • Officials: No spectators at air show were injured

A fiery crash at an Ohio air show Saturday left two people dead, according to affiliate WHIO.

Jane Wicker, a wing walker, had been performing on the biplane when it suddenly plunged towards the ground. Witnesses say the plane burst into flames upon impact.

Just moments prior, there were blue skies and the air show announcer describing Wicker as "sitting on top of the world." Seconds later, the plane crashed in a grassy area.

The crash also killed the plane's pilot identified as Charlie Schwenker. The cause of the accident is not yet known.

Officials said no one on the ground was injured in the crash.
