Fans of "The Sopranos" are sharing their heartfelt condolences and memories of James Gandolfini one day after the actor passed away at age 51. Gandolfini is best known for his award-winning leading role as mafia boss Tony Soprano on the show.
The esteemed actor was pronounced dead on the way to the ER. Shocked fans gathered Wednesday at the New Jersey restaurant, Holsten's Brookdale Confectionery, where the character Tony Soprano had his last meal on the HBO hit show. Gawker posted a picture of the touching tribute.
Six years have passed since the last episode of "The Sopranos" aired in 2007, but the restaurant holds onto the undying connection.
"He was a very down-to-earth man when the camera wasn't rolling," the restaurant's owner, Chris Carley, told CNN. "[When the show's last episode filmed at Holsten's] it was a great honor, one of the highlights of my life."
