Talking to your kids about rape

NEED TO KNOW
  • Shannon Bradley-Colleary was the victim of an attempted date rape while on Spring Break in Italy
  • She says the rape conversation with kids is ongoing and evolves with the child's maturity

What happened in Steubenville, Ohio, has triggered a lot of conversation on this show about how we talk to our daughters and sons about rape.  That discussion hits home for Shannon Bradley-Colleary.  She's our Mom 2.0 Spotlight this week. Shannon wrote a blog post, "It Happened To Me: A Letter To My Daughters About Date Rape." We discussed it with her, HLN's Jenn Westhoven and CNN's Miguel Marquez.
