The U.S Department of Justice reports that yearly an estimated 14 in every 1,000 adults are victims of stalking
“Stalking is defined as a course of conduct directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to feel fear,” the department says.
With such behavior affecting so many people, HLN’s Dr. Drew and stalking expert Michelle Ward devoted an entire show that looked deeper into the behaviors of such minds in the Dr. Drew On Call special “Stalked!”
People who have "a lot of internal turmoil, who don't have good boundaries and can't regulate their emotions might not be able to regulate their feelings when they leave someone or tolerate somebody leaving," Dr. Drew explained.
Ward added, “Anybody who's eliciting some stalking behavior, jealousy is absolutely going to put the stalker over the edge.”
