Was Arizona mom framed in Mexican drug bust?

  • Woman pulled off bus while returning home from a funeral in Mexico
  • Soldiers accused her of smuggling marijuana into the U.S.
  • Husband thinks they may have been looking for a bribe

An Arizona mom of seven is fighting to get out of a Mexican jail.

Yanira Maldonado, accused of trying to smuggle 12 pounds of marijuana into the United States, will be in court Wednesday.

Soldiers said they found the marijuana under her seat on a bus last week at a checkpoint as she and her husband were trying to return to Arizona after a funeral.

Her husband thinks the soldiers wanted a bribe.

A Mexican official also says it looks like she was framed.
