Prosecutor: Caryn Kelley keeps changing her story

  • Caryn Kelley is on trial for manslaughter in the death of her boyfriend Phillip Peatross
  • She says he took her gun, pointed it to his head and it accidentally fired as they struggled for the weapon
  • According to prosecutors, Kelley has given several different explanations for the shooting

Caryn Kelley says it was her boyfriend, Phillip Peatross, who accidentally shot himself as the two struggled for his gun. But according to prosecutor Candra Moore, this isn't the first story she has told about what happened the night he died.

“There are things in [Kelley's] versions that don’t make any sense,” Moore told jurors last week. “Listen to the wording that she uses. Listen when she walks out of the house and the police respond … [she says] ‘He’s been shot. He’s been shot’. Not ’He shot himself.’”

The trial resumes Tuesday with closing arguments.
