Dr. Drew

Driven by current events, "Dr. Drew" on HLN focuses on the human - and human behavior - at the center of the story.

Does Jodi thrive on drama?

  • Jodi Arias was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander
  • Arias trial judge denied a motion for a mistrial Monday

Court watchers were caught by surprise Monday when Jodi Arias’ attorney Kirk Nurmi announced that the defense would not be presenting any witnesses during the death penalty phase of the trial.

That now leaves the 32-year-old convicted murderer herself to try persuade jurors on her sentencing.

Will she plead for her life or actually say that she deserves death?

“Anything can happen with Jodi,” psychotherapist Robi Ludwid told HLN’s Dr. Drew Monday night. ”It seems like she kind of thrives on the drama. What's so interesting is to see that nobody seems to be supporting her at this point.”
