Boston bombing suspects' uncle: They're 'losers'

  • 'We’re ashamed,' he said outside his Maryland home
  • He begs Dzhokar Tsarnaev to turn himself in & seek forgiveness

The paternal uncle of the two Boston bombing suspects was terse and emphatic Friday in condemning his nephews as reporters converged on him in front of his Maryland home.

"What I think, what’s behind it -- being losers, not being able to settle themselves," said Ruslan Tsarni as a massive manhunt for one of his nephews went on in New England.

Police say Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed after a confrontation with police; Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, remains on the lam.

Tsarni expressed his deep disappointment in the pair, saying they brought "shame" upon their family and disgraced Chechnyan people.

He asked Dzhokar to turn himself in to authorities and beg for forgiveness. Watch his impassioned press conference above.
