How to spot a video game addict

NEED TO KNOW
  • Meet Matthew, who says at his worst, he would game up to 50 hours a week
  • He lost his mother and father within 3 years
  • Matthew says he used video games as an escape

Does your child spend more than 30 hours a week playing video games?  Have they withdrawn from friends and family or have sleep problems?  Have they lost interest in other hobbies or things that were meaningful in their lives?  They may have an addiction.  And for the first time, video game addiction may get its own distinction from the American Psychiatric Association.  Here are warning signs to look for if you think your child is addicted.
