Weekend Express with Lynn Smith

Fast-paced look at the day's essential news and buzz-worthy stories

Is your kid buckled in right?

Car seats seem easy enough, but a lot of people are installing them wrong! Consumer Reports says there's an 80% chance your kid isn't buckled in correctly. That's pretty scary.

Their Research Center tested 91 different seat models to see which ones did best, so they're pretty sure they know what they're doing. HLN's own Jennifer Westhoven tells you what to look out for, and what's most important. And she's a mom too, so this one is road-tested.

So do the pricier seats make life easier? Jen says yes, and no. It's all about how you buckle in.

And guess how long kids have to stay in a safety seat? Some experts say until they're almost 5 feet tall! Others say it depends on weight. Take a look at Jen's demo.
