Looking to make an escape to the movies this weekend, but not sure which ones are worth watching? Not to fear, Mr. Moviefone is here to help! Russ Leatherman gives his take on two movies hitting theaters this weekend.
With a cast full of comedians like Steve Buscemi, Jim Carrey, Steve Carrell and Olivia Wilde, fans have been waiting for weeks to check out the funny flick, "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone." Buscemi and Carrell play two illusionists who rule Las Vegas until a street magician (Carrey) starts stealing the show. The new act forces the old magicians to fight their way back to the top. Mr. Moviefone says his expectations were high, but called the jokes "more miss than hit." Leatherman says for the pricey movie ticket, "Burt Wonderstone" might be worth waiting to see on DVD.
Halle Berry, Abigail Breslin and Morris Chestnut team up in "The Call," a new thriller about a kidnapped teenager. The film revolves around a 911 operator (played by Berry) who gets a call from a young girl (played by Breslin) who was just abducted by a serial killer. Mr. Moviefone says the flick starts out as an interesting thriller, but the tone takes a dark "Silence of the Lambs" twist. Although Leatherman 'fesses up that his expectations were low, he says "make the call" and check out the entertaining movie!
