HLN is covering the Jodi Arias trial live gavel-to-gavel. You can follow the action, starting at 12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.

On Wednesday night, HLN’s Dr. Drew welcomed back Hollie and Jacob Mefford, the couple who provided the show with video of Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander that has never been shown to the public.

The video shows friends getting together after a convention in Oklahoma City in 2006. During the gathering, Jacob’s wife felt compelled to videotape a story Travis was telling about a near-death experience while being robbed.

In part, Alexander can be heard saying, “[The robber] put me down on my knees and was asking for the phone -- and he said I had like five seconds to distribute the wad.  I'm seeing myself face-down, blood, full of blood. and I'm like, this is death. This is death.”

He continued, “They say that your life flashes before your eyes -- well, I can't say that -- but it's amazing how many thoughts that you can distribute, I mean, get out of your mind in a few seconds.”

Arias continues to claim that she killed Alexander in self-defense in June of 2008, even though she had given authorities other stories about the circumstances of his death. She faces the death penalty if convicted in her trial.
