Dr. Drew

Driven by current events, "Dr. Drew" on HLN focuses on the human - and human behavior - at the center of the story.

Woman recalls eerie dinner with Jodi, Travis

  • Jodi Arias is accused of killing her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, in Arizona; she says she killed him in self-defense
  • Prosecutor Juan Martinez continues to grapple with Arias’ memory the night Alexander was killed

Jodi Arias claims she killed her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in self-defense, even though she had given authorities other stories about how he died in the past.

She said during direct examination last week that she can’t remember much about the day Alexander died, including the moments where she stabbed him 29 times.

Prosecutor Juan Martinez though continues to question Arias’ claims that she couldn’t remember the specifics about the brutal slaying.

On Tuesday night, HLN’s Dr. Drew took a moment to talk to one of Alexander's friends who was with him and Arias at a dinner just two weeks before the killing.

“By profession, I'm an intuitive,” Julie Christopher said. “As I was eating [with Travis, Jodi and others], something happened within my body. I felt a really cold chill … I read people, so I know how my body works.”

Christopher pulled Travis aside to the ladies’ restroom and told him, “’There's a really dark cloud around you … watch your back’.”

Later, when Dr. Drew asked Christopher to describe Arias while at the dinner, she responded saying Arias was almost “not human,” adding, “she [had a] very cold vibe and you just knew something was off with that person.”

Dr. Drew On Call airs Monday through Wednesday on HLN at 9 p.m. ET.  Follow the show on Facebook and Twitter @DrDrewHLN.
