Jodi Arias continued her testimony Tuesday with her defense attorneys playing a recording of a phone sex conversation between her and her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.
Arias cried for the entire duration of the recording that referred to their sexual trysts and fantasies.
Jurors heard the phone sex tape a day after Arias testified that her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander physically assault her and alleges that she caught him pleasuring himself to a photograph of a young boy in early 2008.
On Tuesday night, HLN’s Dr. Drew talked to Bryan Carr, a man who has been visiting Arias in jail. He is the same man who's been called Jodi Arias' "boyfriend", but he insists this is not the case.
“I'm just a friend,” Carr said. “I'm a supporter and someone that reached out to Jodi from my past experience with my sister being in domestic violence.”
However, after talking with Arias in jail recently, Carr revealed that she had a message for Dr. Drew himself and for the viewers watching at home.
That message was, "She's being portrayed as a person that she's not at all," Carr said. "There are a lot of negative people -- a lot of people hating on her right now -- because they say she's a liar.”
He added, “You have to realize too that she's never been in trouble with the law before a day in her life … she's finally now telling the truth that it was in self-defense.”
Arias claims she ultimately killed Alexander in self-defense, even though she had given authorities other stories about his death in the past.
After Alexander’s body was found in June of 2008 at his Mesa, Arizona, home, Arias told police she was not involved in his killing. She later told investigators that she witnessed two intruders break in and kill him. Eventually, Arias said she killed Alexander in self-defense.
Dr. Drew On Call airs Monday through Wednesday on HLN at 9 p.m. ET. Follow the show on Facebook and Twitter @DrDrewHLN.
