Ex-LAPD cop suspected in murder spree

  • Manhunt underway for Christopher Jordan Dorner, accused of killing officer, couple
  • Dorner wrote online manifesto threatening other LAPD officers, families

A manhunt was underway for a former Los Angeles policeman suspected of shooting three officers on Thursday, killing one, authorities said.

Christopher Jordan Dorner, who is considered “armed and dangerous,” is also wanted in connection with the murder of Monica Quan and her fiancé Keith Lawrence in an Irvine, Calif., parking garage last weekend.

Quan was the daughter of former LAPD police Capt. Randal Quan, who was Dorner's representative in a review process that led to his dismissal. Dorner, a former U.S. Navy reservist, was fired in 2008 for allegedly making false statements about his field training office.

Dorner complained Quan and others did not fairly represent him at the hearing and apparently blamed them for losing his job.

According to HLN affiliate KTLA, Dorner posted an online manifesto threatening Randal Quan and accusing other Los Angeles police officers of misconduct.

He is described as a black male measuring 6 feet tall and weighing 270 pounds. He was last seen in a gray 2005 Nissan Titan pickup truck.
