Travis' friend: 'Jodi doesn't show signs of remorse'

  • Jodi Arias claims she killed her ex-boyfriend in self-defense
  • Arias is taking the witness stand in her own defense

Jodi Arias says she killed her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in self-defense, even though she has given authorities other stories about his death.

After Alexander’s body was found in June of 2008 at his Mesa, Arizona home, Arias told police she was not involved in his killing. She later told investigators that she witnessed two intruders break in and kill him. Eventually, Arias said she killed Alexander in self-defense.

On Wednesday night, HLN's Dr. Drew talked to a close friend of Alexander who described her feelings as she watched Arias on the stand in her own defense.

“[There's] no emotion, whatsoever," said Elisha Schabel.  "If I were in her shoes and if I had committed such a heinous act ... I would feel some sort of remorse and she doesn't show any signs of remorse."

She added, "Even if it was in self-defense, which by the way it wasn't, I would feel for the rest of my life so remorseful and so sad for what I had done."
