Jodi Arias says she killed her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in self-defense, even though she has given authorities other stories about his death.
After Alexander’s body was found in June of 2008 at his Mesa, Arizona home, Arias told police she was not involved in his killing. She later told investigators that she witnessed two intruders break in and kill him. Eventually, Arias said she killed Alexander in self-defense.
On Wednesday night, HLN's Dr. Drew talked to a man who said he had talked to Arias quite often, even loaning her money at one point, at a California inn she worked at before she killed Alexander.
“The day before she left, she was pretty frantic that she had to go back and see Travis," Paul Stern said, not knowing what fateful event was about to occur in Arizona. “She talked about how [Travis] was seeing other people and she asked to borrow money and I gave her money.”
He later added, “When you engage in conversation with Jodi and look into her eyes, it's like looking in a two-way mirror -- but Jodi's looking at the reflective part of the mirror and her eye beams never really meet your eyes.”
