In her own words, Jodi Arias explained on Monday her side of the brutal murder that left her former boyfriend shot and stabbed to death.
When asked why she told a news outlet that no jury would convict her, she said, "At the time I had planned to commit suicide... I didn’t expect to be here."
Arias said if she had given the jailer the reason behind her remarks she would have been "stripped down and taken to a padded cell," where she would have stayed until she stabilized, referring to jail procedure regarding suicidal prisoners.
"I was very confident that no jury would convict me because I planned to be dead… probably the most bitter words I’ll ever eat," she said.
